Values are important indicators of what matters most to a person. Further, it determines what motivates them, and how they allocate their time. In different areas of their life (career, relationships, money, etc) they typically will have an unconscious hierarchy of values that guides them along life’s path. Understanding your highest values, and how you choose the words and hear the sounds in your self-talk, represent them in your minds-eye, and expressed through your feelings, is vital to success. Furthermore, understanding someone else’s values hierarchy when selling, influencing your boss and negotiating can be an especially potent skill.
